Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award
Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023
The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg as the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is introduced yearly to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to bettering the lives of youngsters in our community.
Brian Houchins , a dedicated elementary school teacher and group volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s training and welfare. Over the previous ten years, his efforts have considerably impacted the lives of numerous youngsters in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives embrace establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy skills for at-risk youth, and leading a successful community-driven campaign to upgrade local playgrounds, ensuring safe and inclusive play spaces for all kids.

The award ceremony will be held on January 15, 2024, on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The event will feature speeches from local dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
