Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award

Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023

The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg because the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is offered annually to an individual who has demonstrated distinctive dedication to enhancing the lives of kids in our community.

Brian  Houchin s, a devoted elementary school instructor and community volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s schooling and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have considerably impacted the lives of countless youngsters in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives embrace establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy abilities for at-risk youth, and main a successful community-driven marketing campaign to upgrade local playgrounds, making certain safe and inclusive play areas for all youngsters.

The award ceremony shall be held on January 15, 2024, at the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The event will characteristic speeches from native dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
