Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award
Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023
The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg because the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is presented yearly to an individual who has demonstrated distinctive dedication to bettering the lives of children in our community.
Brian Houchins , a devoted elementary school teacher and community volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s training and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of countless kids in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives include establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy skills for at-risk youth, and leading a successful community-driven marketing campaign to upgrade local playgrounds, making certain protected and inclusive play spaces for all kids.
The award ceremony shall be held on January 15, 2024, on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The occasion will characteristic speeches from native dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
