Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award


Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023

The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg because the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is offered yearly to a person who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to bettering the lives of children in our neighborhood.

Brian Houchins , a dedicated elementary college trainer and community volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s schooling and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have considerably impacted the lives of numerous youngsters in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives include establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops specializing in literacy and numeracy skills for at-risk youth, and main a successful community-driven marketing campaign to improve local playgrounds, ensuring safe and inclusive play areas for all kids.

The award ceremony shall be held on January 15, 2024, on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The occasion will function speeches from native dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
